Although it can be called by many names: E-juice, E-cig, E-liquid, juice or essential oil... they all have 4 basic ingredients:

Vegetable Glycerin (VG)

Propylene glycol (PG)

Natural and artificial flavors

Selectable nicotine concentration.

Essential oils are converted into vapor for us to inhale by burning a coil, also known as an atomizer.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG)

Vegetable Glycerin or Glycol is called VG for short. This is a mixture of organic substances including carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. VG is a non-toxic, viscous, odorless, colorless, sweet liquid, often used as a flavoring for cosmetics, food or cream.

VG can be extracted directly from vegetable oils, usually coconut oil or palm oil by heating at high temperatures with water followed by distillation to clean. E-liquid manufacturers often use USP Glycerin which is 99.7% pure and 0.3% water. This is a pretty important ingredient in a bottle of juice, and for vapers, this is an indispensable ingredient that contributes to creating smoke.

Propylene glycol (PG)

PG is a substance to dilute the thickness of VG, these two substances always go together to help the e-liquid easily penetrate the cotton, the clearomizer and the wick easily work for you to vape. It also creates a feeling like you are smoking, this is quite helpful for people who are giving up cigarettes.

When studying propylene Glycol, scientists only found a “very small amount of harmful substances” and it is still allowed to be used in foods and air disinfection in hospitals. As a substance in essential oils, it acts as a “carrier”, a solvent for aromatic fragrances much better than VG. In addition, to give you more peace of mind about this solvent, propylene Glycol is also used in cough syrups, toothpaste, mouthwash, food preservatives, etc.

One note, there is a lot of misinformation that e-juice contains antifreeze, in fact, reputable essential oil bottles from brands around the world do not contain this substance. Propylene Glycol is often confused with Ethylene Glycol - a moderately toxic substance and is used in antifreeze used in cars. Because it has been proven to be a non-toxic substance, the FDA allows Propylene Glycol to be mixed into eggs, milk, food... The FDA conducted a study in 1973 and the result was that there was no evidence to prove that Propylene Glycol is a toxic substance harmful to humans.

Natural and artificial flavors

The flavor of the e-juice is produced starting from the use of concentrated flavors. Just like with food, there are 3 types of flavors: natural, artificial, and a mixture of both natural and artificial, the juice manufacturer will choose to complete a bottle of e-juice.

For natural flavors, you can rest assured that we will not find any artificial ingredients, sweeteners, additives or colors in it. This type of flavor can be extracted in many different ways, then bottled and delivered to the juice manufacturer or for consumers to make their own e-juice (DIY).

As for artificial flavors, it's very simple, like its name, this is a flavor that is prepared to be similar to natural flavors. In addition, manufacturers can mix these two flavors in the same bottle of juice to create the best for customers.

Nicotine

Nicotine is not the main ingredient in e-juice, we can vape without nicotine, nicotine is mostly used by smokers as a replacement and to help users quit smoking. Nicotine concentration is usually divided into 5 levels:

No: 0mg Nicotine

Medium: 3mg Nicotine

Weight: 6mg Nicotine

Super Heavy: 12mg Nicotine

How to preserve e-juice:

The cap of each essential oil bottle is designed to be spill-proof (it will be more difficult to unscrew the cap than with regular bottle caps), the bottle is durable and hard to break so users can comfortably take it anywhere without worrying about it breaking or leaking out.

Each genuine bottle of essential oil will have the production date printed on the bottle, usually the manufacturer will print it on the bottom of the bottle. Essential oils will have a shelf life of 2 years from the date of production and 3 months from the date of opening.

Note: Store in a dry place, avoid direct sunlight, do not let foreign objects or other substances fall into the essential oil, keep out of reach of children and do not drink.
