In my experience, there are two types of people who are most likely to be attracted to e-cigarettes. One is heavy smokers looking for an alternative, and the other is people from the high-tech age who are attracted to the technology of this type of product.
I myself was a heavy smoker for about nine years before I switched, I was also a self-proclaimed computer geek, and I was addicted to anything related to electronics. It was easy for me to switch to e-cigarettes, because I saw it as a process of merging two of my hobbies into one.
Tech freaks
I have a few friends who are on the same side. I know a lot of smokers who at some point tried vaping. Most of the people who stick with vaping are tech freaks. They are ladies and gentlemen who have made their own video games, know how to play safely and have attended tech fairs. In other words, they are self-proclaimed tech freaks. On the Vape Viet Nam group or forum, I have met quite a few people who work in the information technology sector or are electrical engineers who choose e-cigarettes for the same reason.
And the classicists
On the other side, there are older friends who are over 50 and have smoked for most of their lives. They are not interested in new devices, some do not even want to carry mobile phones or other modern tools. For some reason, they are attracted to vaping and easily switch to this safe and fun thing.
Meeting
The most interesting thing is that, when the gap of technology and age is blurred, vapers can still get along with each other. No matter what the reason is for a person to come to e-cigarettes, as long as they can gather in one place, they can make friends and chat. That is probably the biggest difference between smokers and vapers. You may have noticed that smokers standing in the smoking area only focus on their own work and rarely pay attention to anyone. Meanwhile, once a vaper meets another fellow vaper outside, they always have a topic to talk and socialize.
